Esther Ross said her story summarizes what’s right about Medicaid and how much there is to lose if the state’s proposed Medicaid reform fails.
“I was a beneficiary of Medicaid when I was first diagnosed (with HIV) in 1993,” said Ross, a social work practitioner and medical care coordinator with the Brody School of Medicine. Medicaid ensured Ross received the proper treatment which kept her healthy. She returned to school, began work and recently completed her master’s degree.
